Health & Life Skills

These programs develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behavior that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and develop the competencies to live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

SMART GIRLS

The ultimate goal of the SMART Girls program is for girls to develop healthy

attitudes and lifestyles.  To accomplish this, the program addresses health and

social issues that are specific to young women.  SMART Girls is designed to prepare

girls, ages 10-15, to make positive decisions at this critical stage in their physical,

cognitive, emotional and social development.

SMART Girls will meet on Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:00pm beginning on September 9.

SMARTMoves

This nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, as well as premature sexual activity. The program features engaging, interactive small group activities designed to increase participants'

peer support, enhance their life skills, build their resiliency and strengthen their

leadership skills. This program encourages collaborations among Club staff, youth,

parents and representatives from other community organizations. The program’s

components include: SMART Kids, for children ages 6-9, Start SMART, for youth ages

10-12, and Stay SMART, for youth ages 13-15.   SmartMoves meets on Tuesday,

Wednesday, and Friday beginning on Tuesday, January 11th.

GARDEN CLUB

The Garden Club meets on Fridays at 4:00pm.  Come out and assist us with growing vegetables and flowers.
