These programs enable
youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines,
apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology
to optimize employability.
POWER HOUR:
POWER HOUR is an educational program where members
receive homework help and tutoring. Available in our
library Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.,
students have access to resource materials and one-on-one
help from a staff member. Participants in POWER HOUR earn
points towards monthly parties and trips to fun
attractions. Members may sign up at any point during the
school year for the program.
NetSmartz:
Our NetSmartz program is currently going on in the
technology lab. This class teaches our members about
Internet safety, about the things that you should and should
not do, such as talking to strange people and giving out
personal information. Members need to remember that they
MUST take this class before they are allowed in the
technology lab.
All members who plan on using the technology center at
any point during the year will be required to read and sign
our new
Acceptable Use Policy. This policy outlines what is and
is not acceptable behavior while using the equipment in our
technology center.
