Torch Club

The Torch Club is a small group of Club members aged 11-13 who engage in programs and activities agreed upon, developed and implemented by the members themselves. Groups typically involve between eight and 15 young people, and have as a primary focus the development of character and leadership skills.  Each Torch Club is chartered annually through application to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Headquarters.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America's extensive youth development experience has shown that utilizing small, peer-driven groups is the best way to promote sound character and strong leadership in this age group.  With the guidance of caring adults who mentor and empower them, members develop essential character traits - responsibility, respect for self and others, trustworthiness, fairness and caring - as they learn leadership skills that help them influence others in a positive way.
