The Boys & Girls Clubs hosts New Volunteer Orientation between August and May  for volunteers to get an overview of the Clubs and discuss current volunteer opportunities ranging from coaching to tutoring or sharing a special talent with young people.  Volunteer applications are now available online for you to complete. The Boys & Girls Clubs Purpose Statement:

The Boys & Girls Club is a Youth Development Organization dedicated to promoting the health, social, educational, vocational, cultural, character and leadership development of youth.  It aims to help young people improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during critical periods of growth.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at one of our Clubs in Wake County.  Volunteers are an invaluable asset to our organization.  We are better able to prepare our youth for success thanks to your time, energy, and expertise.

Volunteering Categories

There are three different volunteering categories that you can choose from depending on your individual interests and schedules.

On-going Volunteers

  • Volunteers interested in an extended commitment of service with the Boys & Girls Clubs. (Examples: Tutoring & Power Hour, Mentoring, Coaching, Cheerleading, Dance & Choir, Camping & Hiking, etc.)

Short-term Community Service Assistants:

  • Volunteers interested in working for designated length of time, or with established starting and ending dates. (Examples: Volunteer hours required by a Club, School, or an Organization.)

One-time Event Volunteers:

  • Volunteers interested in working for a one-time special event or project.  (Examples: Steak dinner, Kiwanis Christmas party, Club Carnival or Holiday Carnival.)
